Happy Valentine's Day! Our online store is up and running again and just in time for us to celebrate valetine's day!
Another summer highlight for us was having one of our products featured in M magazine, part of The Sunday Age. Our Animal Trivet was featured as an 'object of desire' available through one of our stockists, Lily and the Weasel, in Richmond.
We've been keeping ourselves busy at Bearwoods over the summer. Below are a few updates of what we've been up too.
Mike built our studio a new deck, we love it... so do the dogs, they often sit pondering life on the edges of the deck.
Not only do we have a nice new deck but with the help of our friends Adrian and Matt, we have a freshly painted studio.
We particularly like the new stairs, it makes it much easier to get in to the studio in the mornings.
Liz and Mike went on a little trip to Bendigo a couple of weeks ago, while they were there they visited Bendigo Pottery, and bought us each a mug. So we now have team mugs.
Our online shop has been causing us a fair amount of grief over summer. But finally we're coming right with it! We're very excited about our newly 'renovated' online shop which is just about ready and should be up and running properly within the next 2 weeks. Here's a sneaky preview.
And lastly, we've been having oodles of fun coming up with new ideas which will become part of our homewares products. They're almost complete, but we're enjoying making them and coming up with fun ideas so far, below is a little taster.
(Thank you Tom Warnock for the photo of our clock)
Bearwoods operates from a studio set up in Mum and Dad's Backyard on the Mornington Peninsula. We thought we'd share some photos of the studio with you.
The studio was built by Dad (Mike) and is almost complete, however we have been working from here for a while now. Mike is currently building a deck out the front which will be great for summer time.

We really love our studio and feel very privileged to have such a beautiful workspace.
Lots has been going on in the Bearwoods studio lately. We're keeping very busy with making up products, experimenting with new materials and coming up with ideas.
Making up timber heart keyrings...
Experimenting with new jewellery ideas...
Figuring out new products ... more to come.
Many years ago a young girl saved all her pennies and set off on her first travels. As a memento of this trip she took home with her a small bear carved from the Scandinavian wood. From the ice and snow of Scandinavia, the little bear travelled with the girl until eventually they settled in the African sun. The bear lived happily on the window sill, where the girl, now with her children would remember her great adventures.
The young girl is now old with wrinkles that tell of an adventurous life well lived, her children have grown and set off on travels of their own. Like their mother they settled in a new land, under the Australian sun. And the little bear has come to live with them. The little bear remembers his travels, from the ice and snow to the warm African sun, as he sits happily on the window sill looking out across the bay soaking in the warm Australian sun.
