We've been keeping ourselves busy at Bearwoods over the summer. Below are a few updates of what we've been up too.
Mike built our studio a new deck, we love it... so do the dogs, they often sit pondering life on the edges of the deck.
Not only do we have a nice new deck but with the help of our friends Adrian and Matt, we have a freshly painted studio.
We particularly like the new stairs, it makes it much easier to get in to the studio in the mornings.
Liz and Mike went on a little trip to Bendigo a couple of weeks ago, while they were there they visited Bendigo Pottery, and bought us each a mug. So we now have team mugs.
Our online shop has been causing us a fair amount of grief over summer. But finally we're coming right with it! We're very excited about our newly 'renovated' online shop which is just about ready and should be up and running properly within the next 2 weeks. Here's a sneaky preview.
And lastly, we've been having oodles of fun coming up with new ideas which will become part of our homewares products. They're almost complete, but we're enjoying making them and coming up with fun ideas so far, below is a little taster.
(Thank you Tom Warnock for the photo of our clock)
Many years ago a young girl saved all her pennies and set off on her first travels. As a memento of this trip she took home with her a small bear carved from the Scandinavian wood. From the ice and snow of Scandinavia, the little bear travelled with the girl until eventually they settled in the African sun. The bear lived happily on the window sill, where the girl, now with her children would remember her great adventures.
The young girl is now old with wrinkles that tell of an adventurous life well lived, her children have grown and set off on travels of their own. Like their mother they settled in a new land, under the Australian sun. And the little bear has come to live with them. The little bear remembers his travels, from the ice and snow to the warm African sun, as he sits happily on the window sill looking out across the bay soaking in the warm Australian sun.
